November
2007
Washington Mennonite
Fellowship Congregations and friends of CAMREC,
With sadness, the WMF Board
accepted the resignation of Roger and Carmen Reimer as our Camp Managers at the
October 27, 2007 Board meeting. Roger
and Carmen will remain at CAMREC until the end of June 2008 in order for WMF to
plan for the transition and for their family to move through important life
stages as they finish their time here.
Roger and Carmen raised
their two daughters, Chelsea and Roxanne, at CAMREC. The whole family has given us many years of
their time, skills and talent. We will
certainly miss them, but we know they are ready to move on to new phases in
their lives. Roger and Carmen will be
shifting gears to new employment and a new place of their own in Kansas. Chelsea is continuing college and planning
her wedding this spring. Roxanne will be
completing high school and making her plans for college in the fall.
We are asking members of our
WMF congregations to assist us as we transition with a new manager(s).
Our requests:
1) Be in prayer for the search and hiring process that has
begun. Pray for God’s leading for those
interested in the position.
2) Consider stepping up as we reestablish strong
committees to assist with the maintenance of the property and the planning of
our summer camps in July.
3) Continue your financial support of CAMREC. Your support allows us to continue to provide
a quality camping experience for our WMF churches and beyond.
4) Remember the Reimers and keep them in your prayers as
they begin to loosen the ties that have held them firmly to CAMREC for the past
15 years.
Please share the job opening
with interested persons. If you have
questions, please feel free to contact me at (360)848-5194.
