Menno Mennonite Church History

The present Menno Mennonite Church is located in rural Adams County, 20 miles west of Ritzville, WA. In the early 1900's, the entire congregation led by Rev. J.R. Schrag, moved from Polk and Lane counties in Oregon to Adams county, Washington. The first church was dedicated on November 22, 1908, one-quarter mile north of the present church.(see photo below) In 1934 the Salem Mennonite Church at Ruff dissolved and joined the Menno church. The present church was dedicated December 17, 1950, with the parsonage dedicated March 23, 1952.

In 1978 Menno and Warden churches began the first MCC Relief Sale and Auction at Menno. In 1999, we celebrated 21 years doing the Mennonite Country Auction, (held the first Saturday of October), with the help of all the Mennonite churches in Washington. In the year 2000, Menno Church will be celebrating 100 years in service to the Lord.

The present membership of the congregation is 149 with Terry Rediger serving as Pastor of the congregation.
